Chaddesley Strings

Chaddesley Strings and Junior Strings began their life in 2005 near Chaddesley Corbett in Worcestershire – hence the name! – but both groups now rehearse on Saturday mornings in Bromsgrove. All are welcome – no audition necessary! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are interested in joining, or would like to come along for a taster session!

Chaddesley Junior Strings

is a string group for boys and girls from approximately Prep Test level upwards. Current members range in age from about 7 to 13, and in standard from about Prep Test level to Grade 7. We play music specially written for the group by myself as well as arrangements of other music, both Classical and Pop. The group performs every year at my summer concert and the Bromsgrove Autumn Fair, as well as on other occasions, and we have won our class at the Worcester Music Festival several years running.

Chaddesley Strings

was formed for adults to explore the string orchestra repertoire. The standard of the players currently ranges from about Grade 3 to Grade 8, and the group is a very friendly one! Last year we took part in the Bromsgrove Autumn Fair, performing movements from Corelli’s Christmas Concerto.

Past and present repertoire includes:

Handel, Concerto Grossi
Corelli, Christmas Concerto
Warlock, Capriol Suite
Wiren, Serenade
Elgar, Six Very Easy Pieces (arrangement)
Bartok Romanian Dances (arrangement)
Pleyel, Duo (arrangement)
Various Scottish Reels and other folk music
